You've seen the ads from Pacific Crest..."For lasting fineness...breed to the Accoyo America's Nautilus line." We couldn't agree more! And now is your chance to own one of the line! Diomedes has that perfect combination of fineness and density with an indescribable brightness, and he is passing it on...in lights and in color! First histograms on his offspring are fabulous! Of the 11 that we tested in 2010, all but three fell under 17 microns (with those 3 at 17.2, 19.1, 19.2,) and the SD's ranged from 2.9 to 3.7. AND SECOND HISTOGRAMS FOLLOW SUIT...OF THE NINE YEARLINGS TESTED IN 2010, ALL BUT TWO WERE UNDER 18 MICRONS. The fleece judge for 2008 Alpacapalooza, Cheryl Gehly, agreed with us about Diomedes' 2007 blanket. She wrote "Wow! Simply spectacular..." and awarded him 20 OUT OF 20 FOR FINENESS AND HANDLE, 9.5 OUT OF 10 FOR CHARACTER, AND 5 OUT OF 5 FOR DENSITY. In addition, Diomedes won the COLOR CHAMPION, BEST CRIMP, and JUDGE'S CHOICE awards. Naturally, we are thrilled with HIS accomplishments, but as we always say..."it's what they produce that counts." Halter judge Cathy Merkeley awarded Diomedes' first offspring, Diomedes' Dehlia, a blue ribbon in the Beige Juvenile Female class! Then NW Alpaca Showcase Judge, Sharon Loner, gave Dehlia the blue ribbon nod and the Reserve Championship at not quite 8 months of age. Dehlia has now given us cria...her first, a female, has the finest fleece we've seen...her first histogram was 12.4 AFD, 2.2 SD, 0.2%>30. Her second, a male, is looking incredible so far. Subsequent crias are bringing home ribbons as well even in the difficult white classes. Come see Diomedes and his superfine progeny in beautiful Idaho!

Caley's Zephyr

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Fawn
AOA# 35592617, CLAA# 49790DOB: 6/6/20213 yrs
Zephyr is a striking male with exceptional presence, who caught my eye the first time I saw him at his first spring show. His breeders describe him as a "show stopper", and I could not agree more. I could not be more grateful to have been allowed the opportunity to add this boy to my herd. Robust in size with well sprung ribs, balanced proportions, solid bone and an intense head style, Zephyr commands attention. He is covered in rich fawn fleece from head to toe, displaying excellent density, fineness, and uniformity in style across the blanket, throughout the neck and into the lower belly and extremities. I especially appreciate the length of his fleece in relation to the overall style (which is quite pleasing to look at to say the least!), and look forward to seeing how it will pair with other traits within the herd. In looking at Zephyr's lineage, one will note that he is sired by the late MFI & TNT Peruvian Foundation, who is highly esteemed in his breeding and show career in both the US and Canada, with many champion offspring to his name, including the 2022 Canadian National Futurity's Supreme Champion, and the 2021 Huacaya 14-24mo Alpaca Canada National Fleece of the Year winner, Caley's Ascension. Zephyr's pedigree is balanced out with an equally impressive dam, Sunnyhill's KP's Zoey: A supreme champion Accoyo America Kung Pao daughter, with 3 national awards to her name (2019 Alpaca Canada National Huacaya Female of the year, 2020 Alpaca Canada National 14-<24mo Fleece, and 2020 National Fleece of the year), who is full sister to Sunnyhill's KP's Zang Pao (who who was both the 2022 Alpaca Canada National Huacaya and 2022 Male of of the Year, AND the 2023 Canadian National Futurity's Supreme Champion). Zephyr's lineage runs deep with strong qualities in conformation, fleece structure and colour, for those interested in such things. I am particularly excited to see how Zephyr continues to mature, and to start putting him to work in the years to come. Genotype: ee a1a3

Description

Zoya is a robust, correct, and just all around good looking female who bears a strong resemblance to her late, great grandfather General Ledger. Her pedigree reads like a wish-list of great progenitors, with Hemingway, Caligula, Pistachio, Purrumbete's Ledgers Dream and NGG Lionel topping the list.
As a whole, she displays a very pleasingly soft handle on the abundance of mocha-fawn fleece that she produces. Not lacking in the coverage department, her usable fleece extends into the upper leg and well into her neck, and is a pleasure to work with.
Zoya is proving herself to be an excellent dam and aunty, with an abundance of milk and plenty of mothering ability. She has a stubborn streak, but is absolutely sweet and is popular for PR work, especially with children. She produced a lovely little male in 2018, with whom it is evident that her substance of bone, minimally-fading colour and coverage runs true.
