Mirakel is now a proven herdsire, and his first three crias have exceeded every expectation. All three are patterned—two Reverse Appaloosas and one Leopard Appaloosa—each displaying strong frames, typey head styles, straight legs, and exceptional newborn fleece. His debut results place him as a highly promising male in our rare-color and Appaloosa program. Mirakel carries elite fleece qualities, correct structure, balance, and a pleasing head style. His show career includes multiple top placements, highlighted by his outstanding win as: 2023 PNAA “Most Uniform in Grade – Grade 0” An impressive achievement for an Appaloosa competing against solid-colored animals at the finest grade level. We have followed MIrakel's dam for years as she is the closest appaloosa descendant to LF Del a Burl, the handsome appaloosa male that was exported to Germany. With his departure, these genetics were limited to just two females in the United States-- one of which is MaRs Dixie-- MIrakel's dam. Dixie is the only appaloosa descendant of daughter from LF del A Burl. In Germany, Burl went on to produce 50+ cria, the majority of which are appaloosa and/or patterned. Mirakel's grand-dam, Sugar Shoo, was a full Peruvian and a granddaughter of Auzengate, a Peruvian male, noted for throwing appaloosa cria. Mirakel's maternal side carries the Victor line and is stacked with champions, including Eastwind's Snowstorm. What He Is Producing ** Mirakel’s first crias include: Rare Gem Dappled Daphne – Reverse Appaloosa (Dam: H2R Myrtle) Warm fawn base with soft white spotting, feminine presence, and a correct frame. **Rare Gem Mirakel’s Halo – Leopard Appaloosa (Dam: Raya Sunshine) Bright, expressive color, beautifully organized fleece, and crisp dark spotting. **Rare Gem Enchanted Manly Man – Reverse Appaloosa (Dam: Girly Girl) Sharply defined white spotting on a medium/light brown base, excellent density, and confident, balanced style. Consistency & Strengths ** Rare Gem Morning Bloom - White with pale spotting throughout blanket (Dam: Iris) Exceptional brightness, soft nearly-pink spotting, and beautifully organized fleece. Across all three crias, Mirakel is stamping: • typey heads and short muzzles • straight legs and balanced proportions • bright, well-bundled fleece • confidence and sweet temperament • expressive color—even from non-Appaloosa dams Program Contribution Mirakel is proving to be a sire who adds style, presence, quality, and rare color. With three outstanding patterned crias from three different females, he is off to a powerful start. We look forward to continuing his role in advancing our Appaloosa and rare-color breeding program.

H2R Myrtle

Myrtle’s 2025 cria has arrived—and she did not disappoint. Myrtle has just delivered a gorgeous daughter, Rare Gem Dappled Daphne, a rare reverse appaloosa and the very first reverse appy born here at Rare Gem Alpacas. This exciting female fits perfectly into our program focus on uniquely patterned, elite-fleeced alpacas. Myrtle herself is a large-framed female with a lovely head style and excellent fleece characteristics. She is proving to be a rock-solid production female: to date she has delivered two healthy daughters, both unassisted, and has demonstrated stellar maternal instincts from the moment each cria hit the ground. Previous owner/breeder shares… Myrtle is one of the very first offspring sired by H2R Motown Blues, affectionately known as “Mo” around the farm. Mo is a standout Velvet son with an impressive show record. What makes him truly special is his dam line—H2R Seraphina—one of their most coveted show winners and an even stronger production female. To date, only one Seraphina offspring has ever left their farm… and that’s Myrtle. Myrtle’s 100% Peruvian dam anchors the respected H2R “floral line,” which includes Myrtle’s half-sisters H2R Primrose, H2R Shasta Daisy and H2R Iris. At her very first show, Myrtle earned 1st and Best Bred & Owned at the MOPACA Invitational, along with a 1st place at the Mid America Alpaca Challenge. We are thrilled to have Myrtle in the Rare Gem foundation line-up and excited to watch Dappled Daphne—and Myrtle’s future cria—carry these genetics forward.

Description

Born on a quiet morning here at Rare Gem Alpacas, Rare Gem Dappled Daphne arrived bright, alert, and perfectly put together. She is the second cria for her dam, H2R Myrtle, and the second daughter for her leopard Appaloosa sire, Mirakel — and what a beautiful reflection of both parents she is. Daphne is a rare reverse Appaloosa, expressing a warm fawn base scattered with soft white spots. She is also a meaningful milestone for us here at Rare Gem: our first-ever reverse Appaloosa cria. From her earliest moments, she showed straight legs, excellent balance, and that confident sweetness we love to see in newborns. Heritage & Strengths From Her Dam — H2R Myrtle Myrtle comes from a lineage rich in plant- and flower-themed names, including Calla Lily and Hazelnut. She contributes feminine refinement, correct conformation, and the gentle, maternal temperament that shines through in each of her offspring. Her line is known for producing solid frames and elegant fleece character — qualities reflected in Daphne. From Her Sire — Mirakel Mirakel, a spotted leopard Appaloosa male of exceptional presence and balance, brings brightness, type, and pattern expression. His crias are consistently show correct build, typey heads, and gorgeous fleece from the get go. Daphne is the paternal sister to our 2025 cria Mirakel’s Halo— same typey phenotype and stunning fleece. Pattern & Fleece Notes Daphne presents one of the most exciting patterns within the Rare Gem program — a reverse Appaloosa, featuring creamy white spotting on a warm fawn background. Her white patches are soft-edged and feminine, giving her the appearance of a fawn sprinkled with white spots. Her fleece is bright and fine at birth, with a well-organized, silky feel that we look forward to watching develop. Combined with her correct frame and strong bone, Daphne shows every sign of being a future foundation-quality female. What She Brings to the Rare Gem Lineup Each alpaca born here adds something unique to our ongoing story, and Daphne brings a blend of rare color expression, genetic depth, and strong conformation. As our first reverse Appaloosa, she expands our spotted palette in a meaningful way. Her botanical name honors her dam’s heritage, her pattern adds diversity to our Appaloosa program, and her phenotype reflects the thoughtful pairing between Myrtle and Mirakel. She is a lovely example of the outcome we seek — rarity, beauty, and balance all wrapped into one promising package. About Her Name Daphne’s name honors the true Daphne flower, continuing the botanical theme in Myrtle’s maternal line. “Dappled” describes her reverse-Appaloosa pattern — soft, white, petal-like markings across her warm fawn fleece.
