The day Applause was born, we were wowed! It was the first time we didn't say, "If he only had a little more this" or "a little more that." Applause was born a knock-out and he has not disappointed us. He has an incredible soft handle and loads of crimpy-to-the-end, dense fleece. Out of our foundation dam Heatherbrook's Masquerada and sired by Amanda Vanderbosh's legendary grey herdsire Bisturi (who is no longer in the country), Applause has the best of both! Bisturi's body style and lovely dense crimp style and Masquerada's fine, soft handle and strong color genetics. His body style is stout, big-boned, and solid. When he walks by, he makes a statement. He has a perfect bite and a head to die for. We cannot say enough about this young male to do him justice. At 8 years old, he still grabs the attention of every visitor on our ranch! Just today, one asked about him and said "I'll remember him!" We could not be more pleased with the cria this male is producing. He is predominately throwing gray, even when bred to other colors. We are also excited about the rich, dark silver color we are getting, passed down from his dam!
We believe our success is in the success of our clients!!!

KBA’s Pink Champaign is a beautifully fleeced light rose grey female with a consistent show record, strong Snowmass and Patagonia bloodlines, and an EPD profile that makes her a standout foundation dam. She is the daughter of Snowmass Enlightenment and carries dense, uniform fleece with a bold, confident presence. Pink was awarded Reserve Color Champion at Alpacapalooza and earned multiple 2nd place ribbons in halter and fleece at shows including the AOA National Show, Great Western Alpaca Show, and California Classic. Her fleece remains dense and fine with excellent uniformity. Her 2024 EPDs place her in the Top 15% nationally for five traits: AFD, SDAFD, Spin Fineness, %>30, and Fleece Weight She also ranks in the top third for medullation (%M), indicating strong processing potential, and shows exceptional crimp and density (MC 2.895). While her staple length is on the shorter side, she pairs well with longer-stapled sires to balance this trait in her offspring. Pink has produced multiple cria, including her modern rose grey daughter Jacinta, who carries her dam’s brightness and balanced frame. Her confident presence and show history make her a highly valuable dam in our herd. She is currently bred to Snowmass Sizlin’ Legacy XX, due June 2026. Pink loves the crias. She is often the one to start the evening pronking. We are excited to see her with one of her own again. Meet the newest addition to the Rare Gem herd-- Snowmass Sizlin Legacy XX! This boy is an exciting find out of the Snowmass herd. While Snowmass did not breed appaloosas, they kept detailed breeding program notes which included specific lines that threw spots and the frequency of those spotted results. Sizlin descends from an import within the Snowmass herd that threw the highest number of spotted offspring-- to a rate of 6.5X that of the others in their herd. Do we have a new gene carrier to add to the list of the appaloosa breeders?!?! Time will tell. Sizlin will be thoroughly "tested" and bred across the full range of colors of non-appaloosa carriers. In addition to having a beautiful phenotype, Sizlin has a buttery handle that opens up to well-defined spots of white, fawn, dark brown... and even grey! His fleece is extremely fine, dense and uniform. His first shearing at <10 months old yielded 8 lbs. of fleece! Needless to say, we are so blessed that Lynn Edens of Little Creek Farm has agreed to share this amazing young male. Sizlin's show debut was October 20-21, 2021 at the double show NEAOBA Alpaca Fall Spectacular and Empire Alpaca Extravaganza in Syracuse, New York. He color checked and was confirmed by the ring judges as "definitely" appaloosa. Both judges had very positive comments as to his fiber quality, eye-catching conformation and calm, pleasant demeanor. After New York, Sizlin was shown across the United States in a variety of shows. He has performed well including taking 3 Reserve Color Championship banners! Sizlin started his breeding career in the Summer of 2022 and he is a natural. He is being bred to a cross-section of females to determine what he will throw across colors. He has been color genotyped by Neogen / Canada and is a EeAA. Sizlin's first offspring was born June 2023 and is white out of a white dam-- gorgeous fleece and phenotype. January 2025 two more Sizlin cria have arrived-- both showing advanced fleece structure from the get-go. Sizlin's on Fya is a lovely appaloosa female and Haute-n-Knotty is a smoky light brown out of brown. More information can be found on both below. Description

Macpaca’s San Jacinta is a striking medium rose grey female whose presence and fleece speak to depth of breeding and thoughtful development. She combines the refinement of her dam, KBA’s Pink Champaign (Snowmass Enlightenment × Heatherbrook’s Blossom), with the density and structure of her sire, 4-Sight’s Applause (Lennox × Masquerada). Jacinta’s 2025 SGS fiber test confirms a 22.5-micron AFD, 119 mm staple length, and an impressive 4.875 lb fleece weight — excellent production for her age and color class. The combination of low micron and high weight reflects true density, not bulk, supported by a well-organized crimp style and uniform architecture throughout her blanket. Her temperament mirrors her fleece: balanced, calm, and consistently reliable. Jacinta is intelligent and observant, often the first to approach with curiosity and confidence. Jacinta is confirmed bred to Sizlin Legacy XX for a July 2026 cria. This pairing combines her density and length with Sizzy’s elite coverage, uniformity, and proven show-quality phenotype — a thoughtful cross expected to produce exceptional grey or dark offspring with lasting fineness and structure.
