Magnus has done so much for us! He has been a cornerstone in our breeding program, improving every female he was bred to and producing Champions like no other males to date did for us. 6x Champion and 2x Best in Show – both in fleece and halter – Magnus is quite the package. In fleece show, he scored 89/100. Not to shabby in my opinion! He is a solid and stunning macho. His fleece is incredibly dense, shiny and well defined. His sire is Xanadu P Resolute, a male that made a tremendous impact in the Eastern Canadian industry. His dam is a Cimmaron Gold Legend daughter that produced 4x Supreme Champion Averegan’s Merida. Magnus shares almost the exact genetics as 7x Black Champion Averegan’s Aftershock, another Resolute x Cimmaron Gold Legend cross. The best way to judge the potential of a herdsire is by his progeny, and frankly Magnus did deliver. His progeny has great well-built conformations with solid bones and dispositions. Fleece-wise, they are all an improved version of their dams’ fleece. Producing crias from white to black and grey that are having fleeces as fine as 14.2 microns (Anrhumé – WH) with outstanding staple length and fleece weight, add to that crimp from skin to tip and great shine. His very first cria, Nyla of Peterboro, won the Combined Brown Colour Champion title in Fall 2019. Since then, Magnus has produced Champions in every colour, from white to black and grey. In fleece shows, his progeny reached up to 86.5/100 and culminated titles of "Judge's Choice", “Best Crimp” and “Best Brightness”! His black daughter, Miss Andean Shadow du DNA, is a 4x Champion that scored up to 79/100 – a score rarely given to blacks in Canada. As a bonus, our first generation of Magnus daughters are now producing Champions! Our hidden gem, Dame Ambiance du DNA! When pairing her parents together, my goal was to create a phenotypically pleasing alpaca with great density and highly aligned fibers. The result surpassed my expectations in every possible way! Ambiance is a gorgeous looking female, very correct in her conformation with a beautiful head. Her fleece has an incredible density, uniform crimp style across her body that she retains throughout the years. She comes from unique genetic lines we’ve been working with for over 15 years: ARA Chananza, MMR Marcoyo, MMR Arequipina, Coyo Destini & Fiber Works Diamante. Her paternal granddam is our first produced Champion, Duchesse Alfée du DNA. Ambiance has produced 2 incredibly promising young females in sired by Alpacajoy Excelsior, Miss Ambivalence du DNA & Miss Artemisa du DNA. Both girls ranked in our top 3 animals produced by Excelsior on our farm thus far! Although our herd size is back to what we once maintained, the new responsibilities of running our manufacturing facility require us to downsize a bit... We are therefore motivated to sell some animals and will consider respectable offers on selected individuals; Ambiance is one of them. We would certainly recommend breeding her to Excelsior again!
