AutumnSun's Artorius is fantastic male, not surprising as he is sired by multiple champion Red Granite's Royal Brutus out of our Bea-2 Bomber daughter AutumnSun's Merida. He looks so much like his sire that he sometimes is mistakeningly called by that name on our farm. He is incredibly dense, long stapled, and organized into zipper crimp. As he has gotten older, his fiber continues to impress us. In his 3 year old class at the 2023 AOA National Halter Show, the first place went on to be champion. But the judge said to the audience of Artorius that he had a beautiful fleece and to put your hands on him to see an example of what zipper crimp should look like! This fleece went on to win Reserve Champion in the Grey males at the 2023 AOA National Fleece Show!

AutumnSun's Perfect Harmony

Pretty girl with lovely looks! Funny thing.... Harmony has been bred twice in one cycle to two different males! Oops. But, that's because she was matching nicely with two males in our planning and actually ended up pairing with both our Artorius (multiple champion son of champion Red Granite's Royal Brutus) and our Major (son of Patagonia's Ernesto). We planned to resolve it if/when she cushed after this first cycle, by picking one of these herdsires to breed her to, as we were excited to see what she produced either way! But, since she was instead confirmed pregnant by ultrasound, it looks like we will be submitting both males for the cria registration! Harmony has been a sweet heart with eye catching looks. She is upright and easy moving on a balanced frame to give her an all over well confirmed look. Her fiber is nicely crimpy and dense with soft handle, warm brightness, and good staple length. Her first cria is lovely white girl.

Description

So, this is interesting. Born from a classic rose grey sire (who was EE aa) out of partially dilute black (Ee aa) phenotypical dark fawn with a white forehead spot, Wanda is pure white. On top of that, she color-typed as a EE aa! Is this a case of a roan with a really big white spot (a play on the tongue-in-cheek statement when a white is born from two greys)? It seems Wanda is a grey dressed in all white. She has spectacular fleece and hopefully will do well within a grey program.
