Dreamy is a champion producer, and we have retained 3 of her offspring for our breeding program. Dreamy's first three offspring are champions -- two of them are out of GANYMEDE! Her first male offspring, Rigel, out of CCNF Leviathan, is a multiple champion and he is currently standing on our herdsire row -- he's absolutely magnificent — winning dark color champion as a four-year-old in the 2023 AOA, IFA Fleece Show Gr2 with a measured AFD of 20.1 µm)! He also received the best brightness award at that show!
We purchased "Dreamy" at the 2018 POC Auction because we loved what we saw in her fleece, and we loved her genetics! Dreamy is a reliable producer, and she's been an attentive mom. She's calm and easy going.
Dreamy delivered a gorgeous white male cria, Cosmos, on 5/11/20, out of GANYMEDE, and he was truly stunning right out of the box! With incredible definition to his zigzag fleece -- could already tell on day one that he was going to be really, really nice...and he championed at his first show at just over 6 months old! His 2-yr old fleece held a 16 micron AFD.
Dreamy was bred right back to Ganymede for an encore and she produced another gorgeous white male cria, Cerberus, on 4/27/21 and he championed at the 2022 CAC Show. Cerb’s 2-year old fleece held a 15 µm AFD, and we retained him for our breeding program.
Dreamy delivered a beautiful beige female cria on 5/10/2022 and she was sold to friends in Florida before she was old enough to be shown. Three more female crias followed, arriving on 4/30/23, 4/24/24 and 4/22/25. Obviously, Dreamy is easy to get bred -- a cria every year at about the same time.
While Dreamy has produced incredible offspring, she’s a heavy milk producer, and has been susceptible to mastitis. We’ve decided to retire her from our breeding program as we reduce our herd to a more manageable size. She has two working teats, but it takes several days of bottle feeding her cria and expressing her milk, before we have been able to get the last two cria to latch on effectively. Her price reflects this condition. She will be available as soon as her current cria is weaned.
