Northern Mystery's Erasmus

We knew the moment he hit the ground that Erasmus was going to be everything we could have hoped from pairing Roxcene with Bocelli. He displays both parents stellar temperaments, as well as a fantastic fleece and phenotype. Covered from head to toe in crimpy white fleece, Erasmus' displays his sire's lustre, length and crimp style, paired with Roxcene's density and organization, producing bundles of just fine, silky soft fleece that we are excited to work with. Much like Bocelli, Erasmus seems to be more of a medium built animal with a lovely head style. He is square in his stance and quite compact overall, very much like his dam in this regard. He is a very alert animal with an upright head carriage, and an excellent disposition overall. Erasmus is extremely easy going and sociable, just like his parents. This boy will do anything you ask of him willingly, quietly and without hesitation. He hasn't a single cross bone in his body, making him an absolute joy to work with both on and off lead.

Aurora is a lovely, well grown female with a soft temperament and excellent mothering instincts and ability. She is elegant, flashy, and has the fleece to back up her good looks. Genetically, Aurora has a strong colour background and continues to display the longevity of micron that I was hoping to see come through from her parent's lines. She also displays a fantastic degree of brightness, a velvety soft handle, and a rich, caramel fawn colour that is gorgeous once spun. As a dam, Aurora is proving herself to be a rich and heavy milker, with no difficulties maintaining robust health.

Description

After pairing a very white Erasmus with a very dark Aurora, who has traditionally only produced light fawns, Australis was a pleasant surprise, being the darkest of her siblings! This pretty girl is covered head to toe in a ton of the tiniest, softest bundles I have seen on one of my herds cria yet. Her fleece so far is displaying a lovely handle, with a prominent, high amplitude crimp style that delivers on both length and uniformity across the blanket. Coming from a traditionally heavy cutting fleeced sire who is maintaining staple length with ease, and a uniform and dense dam like Aurora, I very much look forward to seeing how Australis continues to mature. Conformationally, Australis is displaying good growth for her age, with correct proportions and good depth and bone. As Australis is very related to much of the rest of my herd, she will be available for purchase to an approved home post-weaning.
