Time is running out to purchase a breeding to Ganymede, the 2017 AOA Nat’l Supreme Champion. Color genotype: ee Aa. Can produce black! He's making Champions & Judges Choice offspring!! Extraordinary Offspring: CNTRL Ganymede's Hannah B, has 22 Championships and 4 Judges Choice awards competing as a fawn female -AND- she is the 2021/22 #5 female in the Nation!! AMAF Islamadora, has 20 Championships, including the 2024 AOA National Championship, and received her first Judges Choice award as a yearling in Fall of 2023! StrongShepherd Juno, is a 16x Champion & JC male, and CCNF (arguably the top breeding farm in the country) purchased half-interest in this incredible male to bring different genetics into their herd! "This male shows extremely strong fiber traits that should be passed to his offspring...Bred to top notch females, you should expect many champions." -- Comments from Dr. Norm Evans' biopsy report SKIN BIOPSY was performed at 30 months of age by Dr. Norm Evans in December 2017. Of note, his 15x scan shows large fiber clusters uniform in shape and placement within his connective tissue. His scan shows only 4 guard type hairs from the 6800+ fibers in his 10 MM tissue punch. His true density is 86.75 follicles per SQ MM of skin. He shows a level 2 of 4 gland structure, with an average S/P ratio of 14.1 to 1, and only 11% of his secondary fibers are medullated which is rare since the average is near 60%. His 250x scan shows the presence of many round secondary fibers, and one hundred typical secondary fibers averaged 17.8 microns — at 30 months old!! According to Dr. Evans 30 months is the recommended age for skin biopsies and gives the most accurate values. Full report available upon request. While Ganymede’s breeding fee is firm, we can offer attractive discounts on any solely owned herdsire in a multiple breeding package. We also have females available that have already been bred to Ganymede or can be purchased with a future breeding to him. Please give us a call to discuss. Ganymede is Co-Owned with Rancho Inca Alpacas located in Navasota TX

Dreamy is a champion producer, and we have retained 3 of her offspring for our breeding program. Dreamy's first three offspring are champions -- two of them are out of GANYMEDE! Her first male offspring, Rigel, out of CCNF Leviathan, is a multiple champion and he is currently standing on our herdsire row -- he's absolutely magnificent — winning dark color champion as a four-year-old in the 2023 AOA, IFA Fleece Show Gr2 with a measured AFD of 20.1 µm)! He also received the best brightness award at that show! We purchased "Dreamy" at the 2018 POC Auction because we loved what we saw in her fleece, and we loved her genetics! Dreamy is a reliable producer, and she's been an attentive mom. She's calm and easy going. Dreamy delivered a gorgeous white male cria, Cosmos, on 5/11/20, out of GANYMEDE, and he was truly stunning right out of the box! With incredible definition to his zigzag fleece -- could already tell on day one that he was going to be really, really nice...and he championed at his first show at just over 6 months old! His 2-yr old fleece held a 16 micron AFD. Dreamy was bred right back to Ganymede for an encore and she produced another gorgeous white male cria, Cerberus, on 4/27/21 and he championed at the 2022 CAC Show. Cerb’s 2-year old fleece held a 15 µm AFD, and we retained him for our breeding program. Dreamy delivered a beautiful beige female cria on 5/10/2022 and she was sold to friends in Florida before she was old enough to be shown. Three more female crias followed, arriving on 4/30/23, 4/24/24 and 4/22/25. Obviously, Dreamy is easy to get bred -- a cria every year at about the same time. While Dreamy has produced incredible offspring, she’s a heavy milk producer, and has been susceptible to mastitis. We’ve decided to retire her from our breeding program as we reduce our herd to a more manageable size. She has two working teats, but it takes several days of bottle feeding her cria and expressing her milk, before we have been able to get the last two cria to latch on effectively. Her price reflects this condition. She will be available as soon as her current cria is weaned.

Description

Vega’s growing into a beautiful young female with a lovely fleece and excellent conformation. Her fleece has very good fineness, character, and uniformity. She’s also curious and sweet like her dam. Vega was sold to a client in New Jersey, and unfortunately, she is once again for sale, along with her friend, Luna. (See packages.) She is currently located in New Jersey, for those of you who may be interested in looking at her. Please contact me for more information. Vega’s genetics are top of the line! Her sire is the 2017 AOA National Supreme Light Male Champion, who’s producing Champions and Judges Choice offspring. Her dam is also a multiple Champion producer. Her pedigree holds a treasure trove of who’s who, such as Quechua, Best Man, Sub-Zero, Zephyrus, and Royal Fawn. NOTE for OPENHERD AUCTION SALE: Auction reserve is set higher than price, as the terms must be agreed upon and a fully executed contract is needed to complete the sale. Please give us a call or send an email if you're interested in any of our Openherd auction offers. MMFA offers its best pricing on packages of three or more alpacas.
