Macres Kodiak is the product of top-tier black Suri genetics, combining the elite fleece qualities of Midas’ Black Ice of LunaSea Farm with the refined elegance of Big Timber’s Bois de Rose. His pedigree is packed with champions, and Kodiak is already showing the promise of greatness. His sire, Black Ice, made a powerful impression in the show ring—earning eight consecutive Color Championships as a juvenile and topping it off with the Supreme Champion title at the 2016 AOA National Show. With legendary names like Chakotah’s Midas, Silver Heat, and Macgyver in his lineage, Black Ice brings extreme density, luster, and super-fine fleece to his offspring. • Juvenile AFD: 15.9 microns • 2-Year AFD: 20.8 microns • Density: 63.25 follicles/sq. mm • S/P Ratio: 12.5:1 • SHIP Scores: Perfect 5s in conformation, 4.5 for luster and lock His dam, Bois de Rose, is a Reserve Champion in her own right with a fleece that is fine, lustrous, and highly uniform. She descends from powerhouse bloodlines including Picasso, Captain Morgan, and FDA Accoyo Carmelita. Her 2017 biopsy showed a density of 52.75, S/P ratio of 8.9:1, and an impressively narrow micron spread of just 5.1—contributing to her soft, silky hand. Kodiak is showing all the best traits of his lineage—true black fleece with shimmer and structure, balanced conformation, and a poised, masculine presence. His future is bright in both the show ring and the breeding barn. Kodiak by Black Ice—where elite color genetics meet championship fleece.

Dam: GLR Korinna

3 X Reserve Champion

GLR Korinna

SuriOpen (Female)True Black
AOA# 32533743DOB: 9/17/201311 yrs
GLR Korinna was the Res Champion Black Female at Futurity, MAPACA and GWAS in 2015. At the Futurity, Judge, Amanda VandenBosch, explained in her oral remarks, "Korinna exhibits great luster and smooth hand throughout her fleece on a well balanced, solid frame". Korinna is the daughter of GLR Kokolatte and GLR Rastamon. Kokolatte was the 2012 AOBA Nationals Grey Female Color Champion and the 2012 Reserve Grey Female Champion at MAPACA. GLR Rastamon is an extremely dense true black Great Lakes herdsire with a biopsy follicle density of 68 and has been named Futurity Herdsire of the Year. Korinna has a strong pedigree with colored genetics from both sides of her lineage, with great potential for gray offspring. Even at a young age she was showing good lock, density and luster and has that deep true black color like her father. Korinna's excellent fiber characteristics and solid conformation make her a great addition to the Memory Macres herd. She has competed in the largest and most prestigious shows and has grown into a beautiful, true to phenotype, Suri show stopper winning as the Res Black Female Color Champion behind the AOA and MAPACA Judge's Choice black female. Korinna's 2017 model, Cinch, was named the 2019, AOA National Black Male Champion. Her 2019 daughter, Larkspur, placed first at 2020 AOA Nationals Halter show. Korinna's 2021 offspring, a male, was born easily and is showing nice potential already.

Description

We had it on good authority, our black male would be a "gray maker". Sooo, we bred him to GLR Korinna with lots of gray in her pedigree. Low and behold, light fawn! She's got super luster and length to her lock and sweet as can be. We didn't get gray, but are pleased with the outcome.
