Evangeline's name means Good News and she was indeed! Her fiber stats are a replica of Darby who has done fantastic in the show ring including 1st at Nationals in halter 2017. Darby just possesses slightly more density. This girl is darker with the same fineness! Her Sire Seismic is a Black Jag son who competed against his half brother Jacob Black (Irish Meadows) who is an undefeated TB and doesn't do outside breedings. Seismic is available to everybody who would love a TB. Check out her ARI which has been downloaded here. Evy birthed a male cria on 9/11/18. Impeccable's Halo is the sire and did a shade darker than Evy-a handsome maroon. 2020 we bred Evy to JJA Adonis' Dozer. Dozer is a Legacy Grandson and stamps that famous crimp on his offspring. He has only bred to a few and this year is a new girl for him-tough to get him a girl that is dark and not related. Hoping for her superfineness to have that crimp and density added. Should be the perfect combo. Dozer made Darby (see above) and Dynamite another female that did very well in her spring shows before selling at 1 yr. Evy and Dozer created a SUPERB Dozer replica in a female form. His 3rd female (no males) and such a clone we named her Dozer's Deja Vu. We repeated that breeding for a 2022 cria. 2022 Cria update: Both Grandma's of cria are fawn so we got a MF male that is tall like his sire and those beautiful, elegantly tall dams. His fleece looks amazing. Evy had a year off and then was bred to Polson and had her best cria yet! He reminds me so much of his great grandpa Royal Adonis who got us started in blacks! Adonis was so sweet and had extremely fine dense fleece that earned him 8 championships and 13 blues back when it was common to have 15 in a class! I'm still upset that I had to put Spero down after an extremely bad compound fracture from slipping on ice. I've left up his info so you have an idea of her potential. Of course, we bred her back to him but now, last month a female was riding her so she must have absorbed. I need to keep her until we get another like him. We are selling her daughter Deja Vue who has everything going for her so we can get our herd size down while having middle to older females staying.

Update: Primus is a grey maker! He has made grey even with brown and bay black girls without the grey parents. He has also made gorgeous blacks. One just born from a bay black girl looks just like him. He was born on August 1st 2024. Color Champion at 41.5 mths!! Judges have really liked him but CC has been going to the much younger animals. The fact that he is still so soft with consistency and long staple AS A BREEDER along with perfect conformation was appreciated! See his stats. only 2.6 micron difference between min and max micron!!! Primus has a very buttery handle to his fleece due to the consistency of his fine fiber and density. His yarn is incredibly soft-like a white cria fleece! His sire BMF Taos Zepplin is known for putting out blacks. He was the 2013 AOBA Black Male Fleece Champion. His histogram stats are very impressive starting with a 15.7 AFD and a 2.8 S.D. on his first fleece and at 5 yrs old still had a 20.4 micron and a CV of 19.9. I fell in love with PHA Peruvian Taos (his sire) when he was here in Wisconsin. Judge stated at the recent MOPACA show that he was a very close second and was very impressed with his long, healthy fleece that hand an excellent handle, something not often seen in greys to that extent. He has been showing as a 40 mth old this year and has had very limited competition yet had super nice comments from the judges that included "I doubt that there is a more robust male out there", "very little difference in micron throughout fleece", "perfect phenotype", "extreme staple especially given his age". Primus' first offspring is a black male from a black female. Super fine, dense fleece! Primus is going back to Nationals in 2020. He'll be 4 yrs and 4 mths old (52 mths) but I honestly can't see that his fleece has changed in the last 2 yrs! We have bred him a couple times for 2020 cria. We should have entered him in the mature males. Thought his retained fineness and no guard hairs would impress the judge, they did but she didn't take into account his being 1 1/2 yrs older than the others. Walking fleece he took 3rd! He is such a sweet, easy to handle guy.

Description

Deja Vu looks just like her proud sire JJA Adonis' Dozer who's show record speaks for itself. Always neck & neck with noteworthy guys. He is very related to our darker females so doesn't get used much. So far he has made Darby & Dynamite who were the dams colors (dark fawn, med.brown) with no darker genes above them. Now Deja Vu's dam Evangeline is sired by our true black Seismic who routinely makes black and grey when bred to those. When he bred to Evangeline's dam a light fawn out of whites, she made the darkest cria of her life. Evangeline is a gorgeous maroon with black points. Evy actually had the same exact fiber stats as Dozer's daughter Darby who took a blue at Nationals, but Evy was lacking the high amp crimp. Now with Deja, we have big time density & the blue ribbon winning fineness and attention getting conformation with a proud stature. Someday I'll get a better fleece photo. It's very "well nourished" shiny and I didn't adjust camera for that so it looks dry and lighter than the rich shiny black it is but you at least can see that crimp. Just a few of the great males behind this girl are Royal Apollo, Black Magic, 4Peruvian Legacy, Black Jag, Winchester (Hobby Horse). Great gals back her up as well. This girl has a ton of potential. Deja was bred to our Impeccable son Preacher who has a grey dam. Preacher's black is from the grey's mother. Preacher has apparently makes fawn if the dam has a fawn grandparents because his sire is recessive fawn. So, we have an amazingly fleeced medium fawn boy named Lennox from Deja's maiden voyage. Primus will be her next mate come spring 2025. We bred her once last fall but missed the mark. This price covers Deja bred to Primus OR we will breed one of your females to another male here. Does not cover future breedings as I'm not able to make that happen like I used to. Deja is well trained on halter and is easy to handle all around. I do 20% off packages of 2 or more as I like to see animals transition to new farms together for less stress for less issues all around.
