Despite having no taste for the ring and thus a limited show history, Helios is everything we could hope for and more, coming from Bellana. He has compact conformation with a heavy bone structure and a masculine head with great coverage. Helios's fibre is a beautiful light fawn shade, with just a tint of gold to it. When his fleece is opened, two things immediately become evident: he is fantastically dense and so very, very bright. Helios practically glows. He is well organized and consistent in micron and style across his blanket. Helios has settled his first females in 2020, and will be expecting his first cria in 2021. He comes from lines well known for their prepotency, which bodes well for this males breeding career. His sire, Neville Lake's Challenger is a Greener Pastures Prince Charming son. Prince Charming was a notable seedstock producer in both the US and Canada, who additionally remained within the top 1-2% of EPD's in AFD, SDAFD, SF, %>30, MC and %M. His sire, paired with Bellana— a noted Peruvian Bonanza daughter and another well known producer of champions and champion producers in Canada in her own right, really make Helios quite exciting on paper. He is a welcome addition to the farm and our program, not only for the quality he brings, but also as Bellana's last cria before her retirement and eventual passing of old age. The resemblance between himself and his dam is striking, alongside his quiet nature. Co-owned with Forget the Paint Alpacas.

Aurora is a lovely, well grown female with a soft temperament and excellent mothering instincts and ability. She is elegant, flashy, and has the fleece to back up her good looks. Genetically, Aurora has a strong colour background and continues to display the longevity of micron that I was hoping to see come through from her parent's lines. She also displays a fantastic degree of brightness, a velvety soft handle, and a rich, caramel fawn colour that is gorgeous once spun. As a dam, Aurora is proving herself to be a rich and heavy milker, with no difficulties maintaining robust health.

Description

Parhelion is maturing into quite the handsome young male. Nicely proportioned on a broad frame, with solid bone structure and a lovely head, he holds a lot of promise as a future herdsire. He is displaying a well organized, high amplitude, medium frequency crimp style with a lovely, soft handle, and rich density. He is very uniform, from topknot to toes. He has a quiet, polite temperament without a mean bone in his body. As the second cria out of Aurora, this time by BR Helios (a Greener Pastures Prince Charming grandson by Neville Lake's Challenger), Parhelion is already displaying the excellent density and bone structure that runs deep in his paternal lines. Both parents were selected for their strengths in both uniformity of micron, and longevity of micron, which should lend quite well to a long, productive fleece career in Parhelion's future. An extended view of Parhelion's pedigree yields names which include Peruvian Bonanza and Bonito AOC through Monterra's Bellana (a female with a notable breeding career, producing champions), Purrembete Ledger's Dream, Pokemon Brew, Peruvian Captain Nemo, Legacy's Golden Boy, Peruvian Hemingway, Peruvian Camilio… Despite being my favourite of the 2021 FTP cria crop, I can't keep them all, so Parhelion is available for purchase to the right home. His fleece continues to maintain its positive qualities, and is just so lovely to handle and work with, don't miss out on your opportunity to add this male to your program and see what he can produce for you!
