The end of an era..... We sadly said Good-bye to our beautiful Maxx after he suffered a seizure and stroke on February 5, 2023. Although his time with us was cut short, we are so grateful for his presence on our farm. He truly was one in a million! Personality, presence and a genuine joy to be with! Such a special boy....we will not forget you!!! **September 15, 2023--Maxx's last cria was born ON HIS BIRTHDAY!!! He is a stunning little dark fawn male and we could not be happier!! This was a bittersweet/joyous occasion all rolled into one. We are looking forward to Maxxson's future in our herd!!** ______________________________________________________________________ Maxx MacGyver is back home on the East Coast!! We are so pleased to announce that this gorgeous boy is now residing with us at his new forever home, Honey Maple Farms!! What an exciting opportunity this is to have him join our herd! With each of his SIX championships, judges have repeatedly commented on the high quality of his luster & density that put him above the rest in his class. Check out the photo of his lustrous fleece (use sunglasses!) His lock structure is amazing, as cool & greasy as it gets. His fleece is already burning up the show circuit!! Maxx has all the great combined characteristics of his sire, multiple award-winning, 7x Herd Sire of the Year, Macgyver and the beauty & outstanding locks of his dam Angelinn, a rare Rufino daughter. Maxx is extremely upright with the attitude and characteristics of the champion he's already proven to be. ___________________________________________________________ At least 5 of Maxx's offspring have taken top awards in both halter and fleece, including 4 Color Championships, and fleece awards for Judge's Choice, Best Hand, Best Luster and Best Lock Formation!! . This guy is a fleece machine...and it really IS all about the fleece! Maxx STILL has top 1%-2% EPD's in 3 categories at 13 YEARS OLD!!! We know he's got the looks, but we are sooo anxious to see what he can do for us in terms of fleece production! While we recognize that Maxx is a well-seasoned herdsire....we believe he still has a few good crias left in him and we would love to add to his legacy here at Honey Maple Farms!! Maxx has the best personality and we hope that he will pass that trait on to his crias as well!!

**DESCRIPTION BY PREVIOUS OWNER** RKR's LITTLE ABE is out of Medium Silver Grey My Sunshine Sally and multi-champion classic Medium Silver Grey WLK Silver Threads. Sally is the only Grey offspring out of MacGyver's Armed & Dangerous. Silver Threads has passed away. He was well known for consistently producing grey when bred to grey. Silver Threads was full Peruvian and had a pedigree with every alpaca on it being either rose grey or silver grey. Overall, you will find at least one grey Suri in each of the 4 previous generations of Abe’s pedigree making him a 5th generation grey male. Abe has wonderful confirmation and a dense, lustrous, silver-grey blanket. The locks are more of an open lock structure that hand spinners love, it is showing great staple length growth, and the fiber has a wonderful cool handle to it. At 15 months of age a quick test was done on his fleece and came back with an AFD of 21.9 microns and a SD of 5.4. A sample was sent in for a full fiber test from his first shearing at age 2 and the histogram results were good. An average fiber diameter of 23.1 microns with a standard deviation of 5.3 microns. Another fleece sample was submitted at age 3 and Abe is maintaining his fineness pretty well. The results on that histogram were slightly better with an AFD of 22.9 microns and a SD of 5.1. Ian Watt Skin Biopsy at 31 months (see the 3rd picture): Density - 66.5 follicles/sq mm S/P Ration - 9.6:1 SAFD - 21.6 microns, SD of 2.7 microns PAFD - 25.5 microns, SD of 3.2 microns S to P Spread - 3.9 microns The density and the secondary to primary spread are both outstanding!
