In 2015 we decided the time was right to bring a herdsire of the highest quality into our herd. After much consideration we pulled the trigger and bought half interest (proudly co-owned with Snowmass Alpacas LLC) in Snowmass Velvet Touche (Son of Snowmass Touche (Sire) and Snowmass Royal Splendor (Dam)). We loved him SOOO very much we bought the other half. He is now solely owned by Happy Hounds Alpaca Ranch. PATAGONIA ESTATES ARTISAN Artisan has soft, fine, bright, crimpy fleece with a long staple length. She ranked in the Top 10% EPDs in 2021-2023. This GOLDEN female has outstanding genetics... Her sire, Patagonia’s Ernesto is out of the one and only Patagonia’s Lennox. Both males are multi-champions and have produced champion offspring! Allegra has received 12 other ribbons, including Produce of Dam, two first place ribbons at AOBA, first place at MAPACA, and a second place at The Futurity. She is also the dam of Patagonia's Chief, a 4x champion and multiple blue-ribbon winner, who is now a true black top-sire on our ranch. Artisan's maternal grandsire is Nishio, the 2004 All-American Herdsire of the Year and the 2007 Reserve All-American Herdsire of the Year. Offspring: On 7/8/19, Artisan presented us with ESTATES ALOHA VELVET TOUCHE, a beautiful medium brown female sired by Snowmass Velvet Touche, the 2014 Futurity Light Herdsire of the Year. Her daughter, Aloha brought home a Blue Ribbon from her only show, the 2020 A-OK Alpaca Blast-Off! *Sadly, there was not a championship for the Female Bred and Owned. Judge Ken Hibbits commented on Aloha's fineness, crimp structure, compact body, and beautiful head. On 9/12/22, Artisan gave us ESTATES PASSIONATE ANNISTON, a lovely medium fawn female sired by Snowmass Pure Passion, our magnificent Light Fawn Matrix son. Anniston won a Blue Ribbon at the 2024 AOA National Show. Watch for her on our show string. On 10/6/23, Artisan gave birth to ESTATES PASSIONATE HARLEY, a pretty medium fawn female also sired by our incredible Snowmass Pure Passion.
