We were very pleased to purchase Coalatina at the 2006 Spring Fling and add her to our foundation herd. As her name suggests, Coalatina is a true black beauty; she is as black as coal with a fleece that has supreme brightness and a soft, butter-like handle with crimp, crimp, crimp! Add to that her beautiful conformation and you’ve got the total black package. Coalatina comes from great blue ribbon genetics on both sides. Her sire, Kenamori Gold has himself won and produced countless show ring winners. He was a perfect selection to pair with Coalatina’s dam, true black Norah, a blue ribbon winner herself. Coalatina won a 2nd place in a large (14), competitive class at the 2006 MaPACA show. Her unskirted fleece won a 4th place in another large class at the AFCNA 2006 fleece show. Coalatia took a 3rd place in the TB yearling female class at the 2007 North American show. She was bested by the eventual Black Color and Reserve Champions. It was a tough class and not bad competition to follow. Judge Jude Anderson commented on Coalatina's density, crimp, brightness and handle as well as correct conformation. Coalatina again took 2nd at the highly competitive 2007 MAPACA show! Judge Kevin O'Leary commented on her density, consistancy, handle, crimp and brightness. Coalatina was bred in late 2007 to the spectacular Snowmass Nova, who sold for $325,000 at the 2006 Making of Champions Private Selection Sale. The resulting female cria, Nova's AuSable Trick or Treat, is a marvelous true black with great fleece on a well conformed little body. She's been a real pistol from the start! Can't wait to show her next year. Coal is now bred to our 6x Champ and OABA Get of Sire winner, Peruvian Lancaster for what we expect will be another high end offspring.

Description

Trick or Treat will be offered at Lot 2 at the Priority Alpaca Auction in Las Vegas on Sat, January 22, 2011. Trick or Treat was a real treat when she finally hit the ground! Her dam was bred in the early fall of 2007 and after going almost 60 days came up receptive so she was bred again. In November it appeared on an ultrasound that she was loosing the pregnancy again so we brought her home to rest for the winter and try again in the Spring. While behavior testing other females in her group Coalatina seemed to be unreceptive. So on shearing day we used our ultrasound scanner purchased from LightLivestockEquipment.com and found a heart beat in her belly! And in October of 2008 a cria was born. AND IT WAS A GIRL! And so Trick or Treat earned her name. TorT as we call her, is a nice combination of her dad's nice head and fleece characteristics as well as her dam's award winning fleece qualities. Trick or Treat won a blue ribbon at the 2010 NJ Show under Judge Wade Gease! Judges comments: This showy girl has what judges like to refer to as "the complete package". She has tremendous style on a perfectly conformed frame carrying a black fleece that exhibits uniformity, sheen and a nice handle. A VERY pleasing look with the fleece to back it up. Trick or Treat earned a 5th at the VT show in the Fall of 2009. The judge commented: A strong framed, stylish girl with uniform crimp throughout a dense, bright fleece. TorT won a 4th in a class of 10 at the 2010 North American in front of Jude Anderson. Trick or Treat is offered bred to one of the best blacks in the country: STF Jetson! We're really looking forward to the result of this combination of quality blacks. Trick or Treat, her Jetson cria in utero and her transferable breeding to MAPACA 2010 Sr Herdsire of the Year Peruvian Lancaster will be offered at Lot 2 at the Priority Alpaca Auction in Las Vegas on Sat, January 22, 2011. more info at http://www.priorityalpaca.com/lots.aspx?id=40
