Rosetta was the 2004 AOBA Nationals grey fleece color champion. She is a Don Timbo daughter and a Request the Best granddaughter. She has tremendously high frequency fleece. Rosetta was never beaten during her show career, and she has produced championship-winning cria. In 2009, she produced a lovely consistent colored rose gray Color Champion boy, Renfarms' Rose Legend, for us out of the phenomenal multiple Champion herdsire, Magnum. In 2009, she was re-bred to 3x champion Kaleidoscope's Make It So, a stellar gray Michelangelo son and El Nino grandson. In 2010, this breeding produced a beautiful light rose gray girl, Renfarms' Scarlet & Gray Lady, whose blanket has a terrific consistency of color, and posseses a marvelous architecture and softness. "Scarlet" began her show career in spring of 2011, taking 3 ribbons in Hher first 3 shows. In 2010, Rosetta was bred to the nationally renowned gray, Legend's Challenger of KPR. The resulting 2011 silver gray cria, named Challenger's Silver Legend, is a remarkable looking boy with dense crimpy bundles and a very correct & upright conformation! He hit the show ring in the spring of 2012, and took the Color Championship in the fleece class and a blue in the halter class in his first outing - understandable as he has an AFD of 14.3! Rosetta's 2013 cria, Gray Lady's Down, is out of our multi-champion Michelangelo son, Kaleidoscope's Make It So. A very attractive light silver gray girl, Gray Lady's got a lovely, well-bundled fleece, with good handled, and only a few very small spots in her blanket. Her crimp is very consistent across her body, and she shows good promise to make it onto next year's show string.

Description

This young male is a Champion son of 2 AOBA Nat'l champions! Legend's sire, 5-time AOBA Blue Ribbon winner & AOBA Champion, SCA Peruvian Magnum, is one awesome macho. He has performed well in the showring, as have his offspring! With only 14 offspring on the ground, he had won a Get of Sire title, and already has a son & a daughter who are AOBA Champions. Magnum's dam, Misty Maiden, had these fiber stats at age 14: AFD 20.3 SD 3.7 CV 18.2 %>30 1.8! At nearly age 7, Magnum's micron test was AFD 20.5 SD 4.6 CV 22.4 %>30 2.9! In fact, Magnum's fleece is still superb, as was demonstrated when he took the Blue Ribbon at the 2009 World Fleece Show in Cleveland, just a couple of weeks shy of his 8th birthday! At age 5, Magnum's skin follicle tests revealed 78.75 follicles/sq mm, and S/P OF 14.6 TO 1. Dr. Evans stated, "Magnum is definitely in the top 1% of males that I have tested." Legend's dam is our Elegant Rosetta, the 2004 AOBA Nationals gray fleece champion. Unbeaten in her show career, she holds several blue ribbons. She also has high frequency crimp with long-held low micron fiber, and still has a soft handle, even at the age of 7 - nice trait for a gray animal! Legend has a marvelous fleece already, with good bundling, very bright, high frequency crimp and extremely soft handle. His Classic rose gray color is consistent - outside of white on his face/feet, he is a solid rose gray everywhere else. His conformation is excellent. He has begun to catch the judge's eye & ribbons in the show ring! He has already been awarded 2 blue ribbons, and a Color Championship. Unfortunately, he has only one descended testicle, so we have not been able to show him anymore in halter classes. We are keeping an eye on him to see if the second testicle will descend, but the window is rapidly closing on that possibility. We may elect to try some selected breedings with him and monitor any resulting crias to see if they inherit that trait.
