SAD NEWS: Porteus died in Summer 2010. We will miss him greatly. His offspring will have a lasting impact on our herd for years to come. We are pleased to welcome Chase Tavern Pita to our foundation herd. We have been very selectively adding females of the highest quality to build our herd. After driving through snow and ice to reach Chase Tavern Farm in the dead of winter you know we are committed to seeking out and finding the best. Pita is a classic example of the prepotence of her herdsire, Evander. Evander is a champion on his own and has been producing a line of champion offspring. Evander carries the rare Peruvian bloodlines of 5Peruvian Inca's Ransom and 5Peruvian Sunshine - two imports from the Antacalla farm in the Alianza Co-op. Paired with Pita's dam, Evander has produced a series of winners - including AOBA champion Freida. Pita produced a beautiful son sired by our Ultimate herd sire, Snowmass Porteus. We could not resist the temptation to pair Porteus with an Evander daughter. Look for Blue Gate Petrus on our site. He is spectacular. Pita recently birthed a wonderful daughter of Snowmass Matrix Freedom - Blue Gate Luz de Libertad. He is an awesome son of Snowmass Matrix owned by Mary and Troy Ogilvie of Timberlodge Alpacas. Pita is delivered an outstanding female by our super herd sire RobAsia's Albus. This is an awesome pairing. We really liked pairing Albus with Pita's Evander/Inca's Ransom lines so much so that we just repeated the same breeding.
