SAD NEWS: Porteus died in Summer 2010. We will miss him greatly. His offspring will have a lasting impact on our herd for years to come. Zarzamora (Spanish for blackberry) is the daughter of one of our favorite dams, Indian Princess, and Crescent Moon's Casador. Zarzamora's true black fleece already demonstrates the extreme fineness from her dam, and deep true black color from her sire. Her fleece has developed very nice character, crimp and she has wonderful density. One farm visitor commented that she has the softest black fleece he has ever touched. You wouldn't know she was black from looking at her histogram. Her sire, Casador, has a long list of awards including a blue ribbon at AOBA. He has outstanding conformation and beautiful black fleece. Casador is the son of Caballero Andante, a proud black sire standing stud at Alpacas of the Patagonia and Crescent Moon Ranch. Zarzamora has developed a great personality - she is always ready to play and pronk. She has grown into a lovely female - with nice size and proportions. We will breed her in the Spring to Cosmos our Invincible's Superstar son.
